Who is included?
Nordic Cultural Policy Day on Inclusion in Cultural Life in the Nordic Region
Welcome on January 29, 2018 to a day fully packed with new facts, knowledge and debate! The day focuses on the role of culture in contributing to an inclusive society, and the cultural sector’s openness towards and integration of people from different backgrounds.
Three new reports that compare the Nordic countries and focus on inclusiveness in cultural life in the Nordic region will serve as the starting points for cultural policy debates during the day. What respective opportunities do women and men have to impact the cultural labour market? To what extent are minorities, new arrivals and people from foreign backgrounds given the same opportunities as the majority population to practise their professions? What happens to art and culture in the encounter between integration policy and cultural policy?
The Nordic cultural policy day Who is included? (Vem får vara med?) is part of Sweden’s chairmanship programme for the Nordic Council of Ministers 2018. Decision-makers and cultural workers from the entire Nordic region are invited to take part in the day. The Swedish Minister for Culture and Democracy will attend the conference.
